As part of its strategic transformation, M1 has announced a new mobile base plan to replace its existing 19 plans starting today. This will give customers a more simplified offering, with greater flexibility and personalisation.

The base plan starts with either a SIM-only plan ($25/month, 30GB) or a Contract plan with device ($30/month, 12GB) – both comes with unlimited weekend data (something which Starhub is currently offering). Some of the current perks that M1 customers’ are enjoying will also be brought over like the unlimited free calls to 3 M1 numbers and Free Caller-ID. M1 customers will now enjoy unlimited streaming on Spotify as well – a feature that Singtel Music is currently promoting as well. Based on your needs, you can also choose to add on more data and talk-time by building your own bundle pack via the new My M1 App or the company’s new redesigned website – a key selling feature of Circles.Life.

With more new SIM-only plans like gomo by Singtel, giga! by Strarhub and the 20GB for $18 plan by Circles.Life, consumers are getting more options than ever before. M1 has chosen to take a leaf from its competitors’ playbook and simplifying them into a single plan instead of launching an entirely new brand. It would be interesting to see how Singtel and Starhub would react to this in the coming weeks.
