In an effort to bridge the gap between parents and schools and as part of Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has partnered  the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) to develop an app to better support a student’s educational journey.

Called Parents Gateway is available for download now on both Android and iOS. It allows schools to send updates on programmes and activities. It also allows parents to perform administrative functions such as providing consent for their children to participate in school activities.

To log into the app, parents just need to sign in via SingPass,  SMS 2FA or OneKey Token. Through the app, parents will be able to receive information and perform administrative functions for their kids, even if they are in different classes, or from different schools.

The app was launched today by Education Minister Ong Ye Kung at Human Primary School – one of the 10 schools which piloted the app in 2017. 56 more schools have since joined the trial and MOE targets to have all 66 schools to roll out the app by the first quarter of 2019.
