LudacusAbout a month ago, OPPO has officially announced the R15-series at a launch event in Singapore. Besides the usual bells and whistles of flagship phones like bezel-less screen and a glass body, the OPPO R15 also comes with a AI-enhanced camera with the Sony IMX519 sensor in dual rear cameras (R15: 16MP+5MP; R15 Pro: 16MP+20MP) offering high quality camera capabilities.
To demonstrate the camera’s capabilities, OPPO has collaborated with award-winning photographer Stefen Chow on a series of photos taken with the R15-series in its “Bringing True Singaporean Beauty to Life” Out-Of-Home marketing campaign.
Featuring Singaporeans from all walks of life, the campaign saw Stefen hitting the streets over the 2-day period to capture authentic and realistic photographs of Singaporeans, across 10 locations using the OPPO smartphone.
Malaysia-born, Singapore-raised and Beijing-based (phew~) photographer Stefen Chow has at present held photography assignments in over 40 countries, with recognition from World Press Photo, National Geographic and International Photo Awards for his editorial and commercial works.
“As we approached the shoot, we had to embrace the ‘randomness’ of not knowing who our subjects were going to be and, honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. Singapore is an incredibly interesting place and the people are amazing. I found my subjects to be very charismatic in front of the camera and by the end we created a tapestry of Singapore, representing its youth and its people. These people are not professional models, they are in front of my camera because of their story and their energy.” said Stefen Chow.
The AI-enhanced camera on the R15 intelligently identifying up to 120 scenes, optimizing the technical parameters of the camera to suit different scenes. Together with the AI Portrait Mode, participants were truly surprised with the quality of the pictures without any editing or touchups.
The captured images will be exhibited at Tangs Orchard Underpass from 1 st July to 31st July so do pay it a visit if you happen to be in the area!
