1-Minute Speech on Environmental Awareness

‘Good morning to everyone present her. Today, I stand before you to present my speech on environmental awareness. Environment refers to the world around us. If we have to keep ourselves safe, we must keep our environment safe. Therefore, environmental awareness is an important topic and we must take our decision in the right direction.

Overpopulation, degradation of the natural environment, pollution of rivers and water bodies, deforestation, etc. are major factors affecting our natural environment. Nature is paying the price of careless human activities.

From individuals to large organizations,  everyone must work hand in hand to enact and enforce policies that prioritize environmental sustainability. Using public transport can help reduce air pollution. Using the blue dustbin for dry waste and the green dustbin for wet waste can help in waste management. Avoiding single-use plastics, switching off appliances when not in use, using renewable energy like solar and wind energy, and planting more trees can greatly improve environmental health.’

‘So let’s take care of our mother nature and work on a greener, healthier, and sustainable environment because our environment’s health is our health.’

2-Minute Speech on Environmental Awareness

‘Good morning my teacher and my friends. Today, I stand before you to present my speech on environmental awareness. We only have one home; our environment. Yet, we are damaging it at an alarming rate. According to a report released by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), 881 animal species have gone extinct since 1900.’

‘Environment awareness is important because it helps us understand the current state of the environment, including the causes and consequences of environmental problems, is fundamental to environmental awareness.’

‘The environment is losing its natural strength. The average surface temperature is rising, trees are cut down, animal habitats are lost, and smoke is released into the air and water bodies. Our environment has gifted us with everything we needed; food, clothes, shelter, etc. Yet, today, we are the biggest threat to the natural environment. It is all because of our careless attitude towards Mother Nature.’

‘Taking care of our natural environment is our primary responsibility. Small steps like banning single-use plastics, switching off-lights appliances when not in use, closing water taps, etc. Also, adopting sustainable practices in daily life, such as reducing waste, conserving energy, using eco-friendly products, and supporting environmentally friendly initiatives can significantly improve environmental health.’

In 2019, the government of India banned single-use plastics like polyethylene bags and plastic bottles. Experts suggest that instead of using plastic bags, we can look for alternatives and eco-friendly options like paper bags or jute bags.

‘In the end, I would like to conclude by saying that adapting to environmentally friendly activities should be our top-most priority. By polluting the air that we breathe, water that we drink, and food that we eat, we are not only damaging the environment but our health too.’

Long and Short Environment Speech in English for Students and Children

Environment day speech for students.

Good morning respected Principal of the school, teachers and my dear friends. I, (your name), of Class (your class) am going to talk about our Environment. The environment plays a pivotal role in the existence and development of all living things on earth and, above all, in the daily life of mankind. For the quality of life that people lead, the condition of the environment is very significant. Environmental abuse has recently been a hot topic for discussion. The most important factors causing harmful environmental effects are various human activities and the high growth of population groups. Let's explore some of the destructive activities of mankind: humans have always cut down trees to make way for agriculture, wood and the use of plants. There are a few great forests left, namely the Amazon and the large forests of Indonesia. These are threatened by people who exploit them for logging or to clear them for palm oil production , which is highly valued worldwide. The international community should assist Brazil and Indonesia to save these precious resources from deforestation.

Humanity is filling the atmosphere with greenhouse gases such as CO 2 and other harmful industrial and fossil fuel emissions. Global warming is caused by hydrofluorocarbons and CFCs from refrigeration found in air conditioners. Plastic waste, which causes sea life like dolphins to die from stomach problems, pollutes the oceans. What are the imminent dangers: According to the official NASA website, staggering CO2 emissions are greater than the previous 400,000 years. The earth has heated up by 0.8 degrees since 1880, with other harmful emissions such as greenhouse gasses released by coal and natural gas and HFCs. Some scientists believe that by the end of the century , the earth may warm up by an incredible 6 degrees, according to Business Insider and NASA. Under the Paris Accord, nations have promised to keep global warming down to 1.5 per cent. The most recent warming on record has been in the last 20 years.

For life on Earth, what does this mean? To say the least, the outlook is gloomy unless attitudes change.

The best way to protect and save the environment is to make people aware of the fact that what the environment provides us with and the impact on us that will be caused by environmental degradation. The warming of the earth by human activities is a major cause for concern. If nothing is done, illness, hunger and flooding will be a major problem this century as the earth gets hotter, ice melts and water levels rise. Large chunks of agricultural land will be flooded.

We can actively participate in the campaign to save the Earth when all human beings learn the importance of the environment. We can cease using plastic bags and reusable plastic straws on a personal level. When we go shopping, we can use fabric and other reusable bags. With palm oil, we can try to use fewer products that cause widespread deforestation. By eating less meat, we can reduce our carbon footprint; large-scale farming generates enormous amounts of CO 2 from cattle emissions and maintenance. I hope that if each of us has decided to make the environment good, then for the next generation, we will be able to pass on a green environment.

Environment Day Speech for Kids

Hello everyone,

Today is Environment Day, and it’s a very special day for our planet! We are here to learn about how we can help take care of our Earth and keep it happy and healthy.

Our Earth gives us so many wonderful things—fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink, and beautiful places to explore. But sometimes, we might do things that hurt our planet, like throwing away trash on the ground or wasting water. That’s why we need to make good choices to protect our environment.

Here are some simple things we can all do to help:

Pick up litter and put it in the trash can.

Turn off lights when you leave a room to save energy.

Use less water when brushing your teeth or taking a shower.

Plant a tree or help take care of plants and flowers.

Every little action helps, and if we all do our part, we can make a big difference. Let’s promise to be kind to our Earth and share these ideas with our friends and family.

Thank you for helping to make our world a better place!

Short Speech on Environment Day

Good Morning Everyone. I am (your name) representing here Class (your class) is going to deliver a short speech on the Environment. The environment is precious and has existed to enable humans to thrive in a remarkable state. For our basic needs, we are dependent upon the environment. There is a balanced natural cycle between the environment and human beings that exist.

Human beings have begun to overuse natural resources, and this natural balance has been broken. Human societies play a vital role in disrupting wildlife conditions and the well-being of the environment which enables people, sea life and mammals to thrive. The result is deforestation, pollution, extinction of different species and rising temperatures in the world in which we live. An ecological crisis has led to the indiscriminate exploitation of the environment. The interaction with the environment has shifted with the improvement of technology and medical care.

The ability of humanity to stop the problem is in its power. First of all, a change in attitudes will be required. In some countries, populations are growing at rapid rates, adding to the sad plight of the environment in general. Natural resources have depleted with population growth. This will cause an enormous problem for our generations to come. Some of the effects of this are soil erosion, underground water depletion, lack of fresh drinking water, atmospheric temperature rise, ice cap melting, sea-level rise, and the list goes on.

Effect on people: Human beings are inherently affected by the deterioration of the environment. The ozone layer depletion triggers skin cancer. Besides, excess pollution leads to multiple respiratory problems, such as asthma or lung cancer. It is also said to affect farming. I would like all of you to consider contributing to the protection of the environment and to make other people aware of this as well. You can help save our environment.

10 Lines for Short Environment Speech in English

For the existence of all living beings, a clean environment is essential.

Some laws to reduce environmental pollution should be encouraged by members of society.

Policies should be made by the government to minimise activities that affect the environment.

One of the excellent sources for spreading the importance and awareness of the environment is electronic media.

Some enforcement of regulations should be raised against the use of plastic. We can save our environment in such a situation.

One of the hazards to our environment is vehicle pollution.

A clean environment must be given priority by everybody. They also need to plant more trees and spread knowledge about the need for a clean and green environment.

One of the best ways to keep our environment clean is to use materials from recycled products.

We all know that the 'blue planet' is popularly known as Earth. Then it's the only one that sustains life, again.

We must avoid the use of certain resources, such as oil, natural gas, coal, etc. We can use renewable resources such as wind, biomass, and sunlight instead of using exhaustible resources.

Environment Day Speech for 1 Minute

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, as we celebrate Environment Day, let's remember that the health of our planet depends on our actions. Our Earth is an incredible resource, providing us with everything we need to thrive—clean air, fresh water, and fertile soil. However, our activities are putting these precious resources at risk. Pollution, deforestation, and climate change are serious threats that require immediate action.

Each of us can make a difference by adopting simple, sustainable practices. Reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimise waste. Conserve water and energy in our daily lives. Support initiatives and policies that protect our natural environment. Small changes, when multiplied, can lead to significant improvements.

Let's commit today to being responsible stewards of our planet. By working together, we can ensure that future generations inherit a world that is as beautiful and vibrant as the one we enjoy now. Remember, the environment is not just a part of our world—it is our world.

Speech on Preservation Of Environment

Caring for our planet is a duty we all share. The environment provides us with resources and beauty, and in return, it needs our protection.

Are you doing your part to keep the Earth healthy? Let’s discuss the importance of preserving our environment and the steps we can take together.

1-minute Speech on Preservation Of Environment

Good day to all. Today, let’s talk about something crucial – the preservation of our environment. This is our duty, and we must take it seriously.

Now, let’s talk about trees. We need them for oxygen, which we all need to breathe. But, people are cutting down trees for their own uses. This is like taking away the air we breathe. So, we must plant more trees instead of cutting them down.

Next, let’s talk about trash. We see it everywhere on the streets, in the parks, and even in the oceans. This is not good. It makes our world dirty and harms animals. We can help by putting trash in its right place – the dustbin, and by recycling things we no longer need.

Finally, we should save water. We cannot live without water. But, we waste a lot of it. By turning off the tap while brushing or fixing a leak, we can save a lot of water.

Let’s remember, we only have one world. If we don’t take care of it, who will? So, let’s start today. Let’s make our world a better place for us and for the future generations. It’s not hard. If we all do a little, we can make a big difference. Thank you.

2-minute Speech on Preservation Of Environment

Good day, everyone. We are here to talk about something very important – the preservation of our environment. This is something that affects us all. It’s about the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the earth we live on. In short, it’s about our home, our Planet Earth.

Let’s start with the problem. Look around you. Do you see trees being cut down? Rivers filled with trash? Smoke polluting our sky? These are signs that our environment is hurting. And when it suffers, we suffer. We get sick from bad air, we can’t drink dirty water, and we lose beautiful plants and animals.

Sure, these actions might seem small. But imagine millions of us doing them every day. That’s a big impact! So, don’t think you’re too small to make a difference. Because you’re not. Every step you take to help our environment is a step towards a better world.

And remember, we are not alone in this fight. There are big groups and governments working to help too. They create laws to protect our environment. And they help teach us how to live in a way that’s good for our planet.

So, let’s make a promise today. A promise to do our best to protect our environment. A promise to respect our planet. And a promise to leave a safe and beautiful home for the generations to come.

Need to Save Environment

The degrading quality of life on earth is well-known to all. It is all around us, one just needs to start noticing the signs. The harsh weather patterns are proof that our environment needs saving more than ever.

The occurrences of natural calamities are increasing day by day which is resulting in loss of lives. Further, the melting of the glaciers is another alarming point as to why we need to save the environment.

In addition to that, the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is proving to be more harmful than ever. If we do not take immediate action, we will have to face grave consequences at the hands of nature.

It is rather important to note that by saving the environment, we will be saving mankind. We have to do this for our survival and not the earth’s survival. Mother earth has survived for millions of years and will continue to do so. It is mankind that is at risk, so we must start now.

Ways to Save Environment

We need to start with the proper handling of waste materials. To do so, one must begin with recycling and proper disposal of waste items. The use of coal must be reduced and we must switch to reusable power like hydro or solar power.

This way, we can adopt a healthy and greener lifestyle. On a bigger level, we see that cities must be planned as per the available water resources. This will help in the conservation of water resources. Avoid using hot water, and make do with cold water when possible. Further, the farmers must use organic fertilizers in place of pesticides.

Further, air pollution must be reduced at all costs. Everyone must avoid taking their personal cars or bikes if possible. Try carpooling or taking public transport for the same. Do not waste electricity so as to prevent global warming.

Switch off fans and light when not in use, unplug electrical appliances as well. Try to use recycled products so no unnecessary waste is produced. Moreover, avoid the use of plastic and switch to greener alternatives. For instance, use reusable bags and containers. Do not litter the roads and prevent your loved ones from doing so too.

Most importantly, plant trees as many as you can. As the amount of carbon dioxide present in the air and the rate of deforestation happening is very disruptive. So, as the trees will enhance the air quality, we must encourage the planting of trees. Moreover, it is equally important to discourage deforestation.

Every year, we are losing our forests which carry the potential to make the air cleaner. It must begin with us and our children. Teach them from a young age to be responsible for the environment and work to save it for a better and greener future.

Environment Essay is usually given to classes 7, 8, 9, and 10.

Greetings to one and all.

The environment plays a crucial role in the growth and development of all the living things on Earth, especially to humanity’s everyday life. Environmental conditions play a vital role in determining the quality of life that humans lead.

The environment is an important segment that enables the growth of all life and biotic components on Earth. It is man’s responsibility to protect the environment for all the species for the near future. However, the contemporary world has gained an increasing demand for industries and technologies that have led to environmental abuse.

Before the inception of industrialization, the environment was in a pretty good state- with clean water resources, pure air, fertile soil, and happy natural environment for al living things.

Human society is the sole reason behind the degeneration of the natural habitat which has now altered and led to the adverse effects on this planet. Human actions in the contemporary world have impacted and caused an imbalance to the ecosystem. Many of our activities have created drastic changes, resulting in many environmental problems.

The rapid urbanization and industrialization have led to massive exploitation of our natural resources. The contemporary world’s hot topic of discussion is the abuse of the environment. Several human activities and the high rate of population growth have created an adverse impact on the environment.

We have carelessly degenerated and exploited the natural resources without any care for the environment. We have cleared forests relentlessly to pave the way for new buildings and cities. Our need for electricity has led to a massive amount of burning coals resulting not only pollution but also global warming. Now the earth’s atmosphere has trapped heat, creating a dangerous situation.

Various other factors threaten the environment, they are :

  • The depletion of natural resources like fuels, food, and water
  • The over-consumption of natural resources have led to improper waste disposal, and they have resulted in the massive depository of hazardous and solid waste
  • Mohith Agadi rightly said ‘The environment is no one’s property to destroy; it’s everyone’s responsibility to protect.’ So let us all pledge to “Save our Mother Earth” in every possible way.
  • There are multiple methods we can adopt which effectively contribute towards the cause.
  • We can plant more and more saplings in our surroundings as well as in any empty spaces.
  • We can set an example by planting a few trees in our backyard or any small area outside or near our house. You can even keep small tubs of plants in your balcony, doorway or windows to make your living space look aesthetic as well contribute to our Earth.

Short Speech on Environment 200 Words in English

The environment is the natural world that comprises of air, water, land, animals, plants, etc. as our surrounding. This Environment is a legacy given to us by the universe in a perfect condition with abundant natural resources.

However, man has directly impacted the whole ecosystem, leading to many environmental issues and problems. The increasing demand for industries, natural resources, and technologies in today’s world has impacted Mother Earth. This, in turn, has led to other series of problems and has altered the whole environment in an unimagined way.

The indiscriminate use of the environment is the root of the ecological crisis. Some of the significant problems are – deterioration of natural resources, depletion of underground water, erosion of soil and coral reefs, regular shortage of fresh drinking water, diminishing forests and wetlands, and salinization.

Some other issues such as rapid extinction of animal species, rising air and water pollution, the collapse of fisheries, loss of biodiversity, reduction of rivers, seas and underground resources, increase in atmospheric temperature, and thinning of the ozone layer have become a severe threat to the environment.

We need to adopt the principles of sustainable development in our lives. Each of us must protect the environment from environmental issues which can lead to disastrous health issues. By taking small initiatives like the usage of jute, cloth, paper bags, recycling the waste products, saving drinking water, planting saplings, reducing the use of automobiles, etc., we can reduce the deteriorating impacts.

To save and create awareness among brethren, the UN has declared June 5 as the World Environmental Day. It is our responsibility to protect our Mother Earth and environment and make the possibility of a healthy and happy life.
