ABOUT CULTURAL REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM ROLES

The Cultural Representative Program plays an important role in helping us create immersive experiences and transport guests to another place. To qualify for this program, you must be at least 18 years of age and authentically represent one of the countries or regions that has inspired our resorts, pavilions, and theme parks. Some roles (as indicated) may be part of a country pavilion. We recruit friendly, outgoing, hospitality-oriented people to represent their cultures, traditions, and history of their country. Participants have the chance to greet and interact with people from across the globe all while sharing their own heritage. Participants will also contribute greatly to our overall guest experience across the Walt Disney World ® Resort, including the Kidcot Fun Stop.

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants join the Canada pavilion in Epcot® to represent Canada's rich traditions and culture. Upon entering the Canada pavilion, guests are transported to a scene from the western Canadian frontier. Totem poles, authentic examples of Northwestern Native American family trees are a natural component to the log-cabin construction of the merchandise shop, Northwest Mercantile. There is also a Circle-vision 360º movie "Canada Far and Wide" and Le Cellier Steakhouse, where guests sample aged beef from the midwest and seafood from northern waters.

Attractions

  • Working at one or more of the rides or theater shows
  • Loading and unloading guests from an attraction
  • Operating sophisticated ride systems
  • Memorizing and delivering lengthy narrations on a microphone to large groups
  • Retrieving and arranging strollers
  • Assisting with emergency evacuations of attractions when necessary
  • Monitoring guest flow and providing a safe guest experience

Full service Food and Beverage server

  • Selling food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages
  • Filling orders, preparing, and assembling food items
  • Cash handling - manual and using computerized registers
  • Utilizing a computerized reservation system for seating guests in restaurants
  • Escorting guests to tables
  • Taking orders and serving food
  • Setting and stocking tables, carts, and restaurants
  • Heavy lifting
  • Bussing tables, cleaning kitchen and counter equipment, emptying trash cans

Merchandise

  • Demonstrating and selling merchandise (including alcohol and tobacco) in indoor and outdoor areas
  • Stocking and cleaning shelves and carts
  • Receiving/putting away stock and deliveries
  • Stroller and wheelchair rentals including repetitive lifting, stacking, and pushing strollers and wheelchairs
  • Preparation of food and candy
  • Preparing packages for shipping and delivery

As a cultural representative in this 12-month program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing the wonders of China's amazing culture. Colorful sights and sounds greet guests as they are transported to the exquisite beauty, complexity and serenity that is China. Within China, guests will find the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, a large marketplace of indoor shops, an art gallery, and the Lotus Blossom Café, a counter service restaurant, and the elegant Nine Dragons restaurant offering a diverse menu.

Guest Relations Cultural Ambassadors

  • Have successfully completed a Disney International Program or have a successful work experience with The Walt Disney Company or any of its affiliated companies
  • Demonstrate customer service and guest relations experience
  • Demonstrate strong computer proficiency within desktop and mobile device environments
  • Demonstrate strong Walt Disney World® Resort property knowledge
  • Demonstrate strong cash handling skills, including foreign currencies, credit card transactions, discounts and other forms of payment
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrate ability to manage conflict resolution
  • Demonstrate ability to handle confidential information

Some roles may be part of the China Pavilion Exhibition Corporation, our independent operating participant. Here, participants can have the opportunity to represent their customs and heritage at a variety of restaurants and shops at the China pavilion.

Food & Beverage

  • Bussing tables, emptying trash cans, and cleaning kitchen and counter equipment

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing the wonders of France's rich culture. Entering the France pavilion, guests cross over a footbridge and into the ambience of Paris between 1870 and 1910, an energetic period known as La Belle Époque, when a spectrum of styles formed the character of the city's boulevards and architecture. Guests will find a theater showcasing a whirlwind film tour of France, “Impressions de France”, a fun musical film, “Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along”, and an elegant restaurant, Chefs de France. For refreshments guests can find authentic French cuisine at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Then head over to “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure” for a 4D ride journey through the bustling Paris restaurant, Gusteau’s.

Some positions may also be part of Chefs de France of Orlando, Inc., our independent operating participant. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to represent your customs and heritage at a variety of restaurants at the France pavilion.

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing Germany's amazing culture. The moment guests enter the Germany pavilion, they view the rustic storefronts along with themed merchandise shops, outdoor carts selling warm pretzels, and the Biergarten Restaurant representing Oktoberfest.

Some roles may be part of the Arribas Brothers Company, Inc., our independent operating participant. Here, participants have the opportunity to represent their customs and heritage at a merchandise location at the Germany pavilion that sells hand-blown glass and crystal products.

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing Italy's rich culture. Upon entering the Italy pavilion, guests are transported to the heart of glorious Venice and find themselves in the shadow of the breath-taking campanile, or bell tower, a symbol of the romantic atmosphere and grace of one of Italy's most beloved cities. The Palace houses a boutique selling examples of outstanding Italian craftsmanship, Italian wines, as well as Via Napoli, which features authentic pizza from Napoli and a delicious fine dining restaurant.

Some roles may be part of the Patina Restaurant Group, our independent operating participant. Here, participants have the opportunity to represent your customs and heritage at one of the full-service restaurants, Tutto Italia Ristorante, Tutto Gusto, or Via Napoli.

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing Japan's amazing culture. The entrance to Japan is dominated by a giant red tori - proclaiming good luck to all who pass by - a feudal castle that houses a Japanese art and cultural center, as well as a pagoda with five stories representing earth, water, fire, wind, and sky rising 83 feet from the World Showcase Promenade. Guests will find a great Shishinden Hall, which houses the large Mitsukoshi department store, and on the second floor, dining adventures at Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining restaurants.

Approaching the Mexico pavilion, guests see a reproduction of a Meso-American Indian temple from the third century A.D. that houses a festive marketplace at twilight, an attraction called “Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros”, a restaurant called La Hacienda de San Angel and the San Angel Inn Restaurante.

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing Morocco's amazing culture. Entering the Morocco pavilion, guests step into a land steeped in tradition and rich in beauty. There are many shops featuring fine carpets, engraved brass, leather products, beautiful pottery, traditional Moroccan fashion, artwork, and Moroccan china. There are two dining locations, Tangerine Café and the Restaurant Marrakesh.

Applications Open on November 6th! !--> In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants join the Norway pavilion in Epcot® to represent Norway's rich tradition and culture. When entering the Norway pavilion, guests are drawn through a picturesque town square toward the majesty of a Norwegian castle. In the merchandise shops, The Puffins Roost and The Fjording, guests admire fine products of Norway. There is also a pastry shop, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and an unforgettable adventure where guests are whisked away for an on-the-water journey through Arendelle on the attraction “Frozen Ever After”.

South East Asia

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants have the opportunity to represent Southeast Asia's rich tradition and culture at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. Participants also have the chance to greet and interact with people from across the globe – all while sharing their own heritage.

Sub Saharan Africa

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants have the opportunity to represent Sub Saharan Africa's vibrant tradition and culture. Joining either the Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge team, participants have the chance to greet and interact with people from across the globe all while sharing their own heritage.

  • Delivering both formal and informal presentations on your country's history, culture, geography, and people, as well as its wildlife and conservation efforts
  • Representing your country at special events
  • Speaking to small and large groups of people

  • Selling alcoholic beverages at outdoor carts
  • Escorting guests to tables in the restaurants

  • Engaging guests in informal conversations on topics such as wildlife, animal behavior, animal care and conservation, as well as your heritage, your individual country and the continent of Africa
  • Delivering formal educational presentations on your culture and the wildlife of Africa (includes storytelling and speaking on microphone)
  • Initiating conversations with small and large groups of people
  • Leading a variety of cultural and animal related activities for guests of all ages, including young children
  • Adjusting conversation content for a variety of ages
  • Increasing your knowledge regarding wildlife and conservation-related issues to share it with guests
  • Ensuring guests’ safety in animal viewing areas
  • Providing resort and park information to guests

  • Maintaining tidy and show ready guest areas

United Kingdom

In this 12-month Cultural Representative Program, participants greet and interact with guests while sharing the United Kingdom's amazing culture. The United Kingdom pavilion captures the essence of the four countries of Britain: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. As guests enter the pavilion, they are greeted by outdoor carts selling refreshments, plus a variety of shops such as Twinings tea, Cadbury chocolates, fine china, sportswear from Wimbledon, and handcrafted products from Wales. Opposite the shopping street, the Yorkshire Country Fish Shop offers fish and chips next door to the Rose and Crown Restaurant and Pub.

Some roles may offer the opportunity for participants to work for an operating participant. Here, participants have the opportunity to represent their customs and heritage at the Heraldry/Merchandise shop at the United Kingdom pavilion.

Under Review – You are an active candidate in the candidate pool, being reviewed by a recruiter, or being reviewed by a manager

In Consideration – You are currently being considered for the position whether through a phone screen with the recruiter, or internal conversations between the recruiter and the manager

Interview  – You are being scheduled for an interview (this can be in person, via phone, or over video). Make sure to check your email as communication may not come through the Dashboard for this step

Integrated marketing intern.

I am a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, and I am very interested the position of Integrated Marketing Intern for the Disney ABC Television Group. I have always been interested in working at a company like Disney, so I found this opportunity through the Disney Careers website. The Walt Disney Company produces stories that touch the minds and hearts of countless people, and I would love to be a part of such an exciting group.

Throughout my academic career, I have developed an interest in marketing and public relations. The summer before last, I interned at an international nonprofit organization in Shanghai. My position entailed cold calling hundreds of corporate representatives and managing website media for an international conference. The position required me to have strong communications skills, be proficient in using Microsoft Office, and utilize social media. I was also able to apply my experience with image editing tools and my familiarity with Chinese to assist the organization in publicizing their large-scale event.

I believe my other leadership experiences are also relevant to the position. I worked with a local community newspaper for three years, which allowed me to develop a strong writing ability. As the editor-in-chief, I improved my management skills as well. As the fundraising commissioner in another student organization, I often brainstormed ideas for events to raise money, which required creativity and organization. At the same time, I served as the president of a student club. I frequently coordinated workshops and social events, which helped me develop interpersonal skills. Overall, these experiences led me to become a better team player and a more well rounded person.

The Walt Disney Company emphasizes an engaging and rewarding work environment, a philosophy that is very appealing to me.   • Go to Candidate Home . There should also be a link in your confirmation email. The Dashboard is a hub of personalized information based on your job applications. You will see your current application status, a log of recent communication that we’ve emailed you, and any phone interview invitations.  
  • To view your application details, go to My Applications and click on the hyperlink to your application

In general, you can expect the process to take a several weeks, but keep in mind that some positions may take more or less time to fill than others. Many factors play into the pace of the recruiting process, such as the start date of the position, the hiring leader’s schedule, or the workload of the recruiter.

There are four possible statuses that an application may be under throughout the application process.

  • Application Received – You have successfully submitted your application.
  • Application Under Review – You are an active candidate being reviewed by a recruiter or manager who may be having internal discussions. You may be invited to a phone screening with the recruiter. A phone screening is not a mandatory step of the process, so if you are not contacted for one, do not worry.
  • Interview – We would like to get to know you a bit better! Keep an eye on your email inbox for more information.
  • Interview Debrief – You will be in this stage until a final decisions have been made. 

Please note that not every application will reach each of these statuses. As each applicant is unique and each internship is different, the process may vary in timing. No matter the applicant or the position, we will do our best to notify you of any updates to your application status.

With Club 33 being one of the most exclusive private clubs in the world, it of course begs the question of how one actually joins. 

This Club 33 guide details the steps you'll need to take in order to join Club 33, as well as a peek into what the application and review process will be like.

Joining Club 33 at Walt Disney World is quite straightforward and obvious, while Club 33 at Disneyland is kept a bit more of a secret.

Club 33 at Walt Disney World has a webpage  that tells you the best way to begin your Club 33 membership application process is by emailing:  [email protected]   and letting them know you're interested in becoming a member.

Disneyland is a bit more discrete with no webpage instructing potential members on how to join.

It's important to note that both Club 33's currently have some form of a waitlist. 

Disneyland's Club 33 has a waitlist that can take quite a few years to work through before becoming a member. Walt Disney World's Club 33 wait list is much shorter, with sometimes only a couple of months of waiting required. 

The application and review process isn't always the same for everyone, but there are typically five steps you can expect.

While not everyone will have two interviews, you generally should anticipate at least one interview with Club 33 staff. All of the other steps listed are quite standard when becoming a Club 33 member.

  • Follow-up Interview

Before even seeing an application you will need to reach out to Club 33 via email. From there you will eventually be sent a membership application to be completed.

The application will ask for common personal information (name, phone number, address, etc.) with sometimes more in-depth questions about your professional background, why you're interested in Club 33, and more. Sometimes these questions are omitted from the application and saved for the interview process.

If you make it through the application review, you'll move on to a formal phone interview. 

The formal interview will dig deeper into your personal and professional background, assess you as a personality fit for Club 33, and further question why you'd like to join Club 33, what you hope to get out of becoming a member, and other questions to make sure you'll mesh well with current members.

While unconfirmed, during this step Club 33 staff may check your social media accounts for another glimpse into your life and your online persona!

After this first interview, you'll either get a decision from Club 33 on your membership status or you'll be asked to participate in a follow-up interview. 

If you're asked to do a follow-up interview, it's typically just a further evaluation of your character and to ask any additional questions about your interest and intentions with your Club 33 membership.

Don't take a follow-up interview request personally as if you did something wrong or answered questions unfavorably.

While not everyone is asked to do a second interview, there are dozens of reasons why Club 33 staff may have asked you to participate in another interview - it doesn't always necessarily you did something wrong.

Sometimes the second interview could be with an entirely different group of Club 33 staff who also want to vet you! 

The final step will of course be your approval or rejection as a Club 33 member.

If you're approved, you'll quickly be sent additional paperwork to begin setting up your membership and perks, and of course, to set up payment for your hefty Club 33 membership fees .

Other than making it through the lengthy waitlist and having the money to afford a membership, becoming a Club 33 member is quite easy. 

While Disney has an extensive vetting process for their prospective membership, most of this assessment rests on you being professional and cordial. Disney truly wants to make sure they aren't allowing someone problematic and rowdy into Club 33.

There are a few other key tips to consider during your membership review process!

1. Clean Up Your Social Media!

If you have anything inappropriate on your social media accounts, now is the time to take them down. If Disney gets the impression you might be looking to party in Club 33, then your chances of getting approved will go down.

2. Show Genuine Interest In Disney and Club 33

While you don't need to be a Disney super fan to get into Club 33, it's good to show you have an understanding of Club 33's history, as well as an appreciation for the Walt Disney Company

3. Have Your Priorities Set

One of the quickest ways to get your membership declined is by making it seem you may use your Club 33 membership for personal gain. This includes anything that may seem like you'll be looking to solicit existing members for business tips, money, etc. When Disney asks why you're interested in becoming a member, be sure to answer this question very thoughtfully!

4. Don't Be Over Eager

 While it's easy to get excited about potentially becoming a Club 33 member, you should play it cool during your application process. Posting on social media that you're being considered is not a good idea (Club 33 has strict rules outlining what you can post on social media). You also don't want to give off the vibe during your interviews that you may be overbearing and hard to handle if you were to gain access to Club 33.
